May the Spirit
Bless you with discomfort at easy answers,
half truths and superficial relationships
so that you will live deep in your heart
May the Spirit
Bless you with anger
at injustice and oppression,
and exploitation of people and the earth
so that you will work for justice, equality and peace.
May the Spirit
Bless you with tears to shed
for those who suffer
so that you will
reach out your hand
to comfort them.
And may the Spirit
Bless you with the foolishness
to think you can make a difference
in the world,
so you will do the things
which others say cannot be done.

I'm thinking I may have to copy that one!
I like that...
a lot!
In no way, shape, or form did I want Obama to win. But I knew that it was going to happen. I think a lot of people saw it coming from the beginning. I guess i'm more on edge about it now than I was when past presidents were elected, because I know it's going to have an effect on me more in the end. This was my first time ever voting, and by the next election, I may be living on my own. I don't know yet, but i know that whatever Obama does is definitely going to have a lot of impact on me and everything else around me.
Kaitlyn,
Unfortunately... I don't think our votes will count for much until the entire system is reformed. Obama won by only a few hundred votes in my county... it was a VERY close race by the nature of popular vote- yet the electoral college made it look like a 'landslide win'. Hopefully people won't be regretting their vote...
All we can do is pray... trust that God will somehow lead Obama- and that he will follow our Creator. That is all we can do...
okay, loves -- there's probably a way better place to discuss American politics. love, me!
